About Us
Prachya Yoga was established in Boston, Massachusetts in June, 2016 by its founder Sunetra Banerjee. Prachya - which literally means 'Eastern' or 'Oriental' in Sanskrit, is an indicator that this school will have that aroma of India - the birthplace of Yoga.
Prachya Yoga founder believed that for Yoga, too many cooks might spoil the broth, but different spices blended in right proportion by a single cook definitely result in exotic delicacies. Having that in mind, she created a schedule which brings a balanced but versatile forms of Yoga - namely Vinyasa, Power, Kundalini, Yin, Meridian, Therapeutic, Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga along with Thai Yoga Massage - drizzling it with the essential oil of Indian Classical dance forms whenever possible. She makes sure to provide different levels suitable for all. She'll present an experience for you which is, in a word, Ekamebadwitiyam (unparalleled)!

About Sunetra
Sunetra Banerjee
I originally hail from Kolkata, India - the city of Swami Vivekananda - the great Indian saint who introduced Yoga to the Occident. When I was four, my mother enrolled me at an athletic club - where my Yoga life started off. Learning from the school and from my Mother has enriched and created the plinth of my Yoga practice.
Being an engineer by profession, science has been my passion. My training in Indian classical dance has injected the interest in Arts and it always intrigued me how Science and Arts are blended like Honey and Milk in Yoga. After moving to the US, I've been fortunate to study the Science and Arts of Yoga under my Gurus Daniel Orlansky, Liz Owen and Chip Hartranft during my 500-hr YTT certification. I've also studied under prominent Yoga Guru Josh Summers to obtain my Yin Yoga teacher certification. Eminent teachers Doug Keller, Todd Norian and Jennifer Reis have helped me achieve my certifications in Therapeutic Yoga and Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra. A continuous study under Guru Ame Wren has enriched me as well. I'm a certified Meridian Yoga and Thai Yoga Level-2 Bodywork specialist as well.
I believe, a proper practice of Yoga can illuminate your own life as well as the others around you.
